Read what was stated in the letter below from Royal Caribbean:

Grandeur of the Seas is currently experiencing a technical issue which limits the operation of one of the two rudders used to steer the ship. While the ship is fully operational, in an abundance of safety, we will be making the repairs immediately. As a result, the new departure date for your cruise is Saturday, January 13th.

We are actively working through the details and will have another update for you today at 12:30 PM EST. This update will include boarding time on Saturday, compensation details and all necessary information. We are very sorry for this impact to your vacation and thank you for your patience.

This means that those guests booked on the Jan 11 sailing from Baltimore, Maryland are impacted. As soon as the Royal Caribbean cruise ship arrives back at the end of its Jan 2 sailing the urgent repairs will be done. Grandeur of the Seas will instead depart the port on Saturday, Jan 13. Royal Caribbean will update soon with details on the revised itinerary and compensation.

The original sailing on Jan 11 was scheduled to be a 9-night Bahamas itinerary with calls in Charleston, Port Canaveral, Freeport, Nassau, and Coco Cay. The vessel is 74,100 gross tons and can carry over 1,900 guests at double occupancy.
