First Look at Carnival Sunrise Refurbished Cabins

We’ve got a first look at some of the newly refurbished cabins which are now on Carnival Triumph as Carnival Cruise Line is getting a head start before the ship is transformed into Carnival Sunrise.

Carnival Cruise Line has been hard at work over the past several weeks with work being done transforming some areas from Carnival Triumph into Carnival Sunrise. Even though the ship isn’t scheduled to begin dry dock until March 1, 2019 workers are onboard renovating as many cabins as they can.

You’re not going to see completely different staterooms and suites but the ship now has a more modern look with flat TV screens, USB ports, and a fresh look. No doubt the cruise line also added new carpets and bedding to make guest enjoy their experience when Carnival Sunrise debuts after her two-month dry dock.

So far the cabins on deck 7 and 8 have been completed and work recently was underway on the port side of deck 2. The entire section of hallways has been closed so workers can renovate not just the cabins but the hallways too. Supplies and storage haven are being held at the cigar lounge on deck 4.

Some space has been made so that supplies and pallets can be inserted directly on the higher decks rather than the usual I-95 crew deck. In general, a lot of work is being done behind the scenes on Carnival Triumph while guests are enjoying their Carnival cruise vacation.

Cruise Hive will continue to update readers on the transformation of Carnival Triumph into Carnival Sunrise. The dry dock which begin in March will last for two months and take place in Cadiz, Spain. The operation is costing Carnival an impressive $200 million and it will be one of the largest renovations in the fleet since sister ship Carnival Destiny was transformed into Carnival Sunshine in 2013.

The newly refreshed ship will debut with new cruises out of Norfolk, Virginia on April 29, 2019. Find out what’s being added during the dry dock right here. The vessel is 101,500 gross tons and has a guest capacity of over 2,700.
