Once the home of a Navy Supply Depot in 1942, the Cape Liberty Cruise Port is now a popular home port of choice for many cruise travelers in the New York or New Jersey area.
The port, located in Bayonne, New Jersey, is easier to get to than Manhattan or Brooklyn (depending on where you are coming from), and less busy, so a lot of people will choose Cape Liberty over the others.
If you plan on driving to Bayonne for your cruise, you will need a place to park for the duration of your cruise. Including the official port, there are a few options to consider in the area.
In this article, we have put together the available parking companies in New Jersey and New York that should be able to assist you in your need for parking.
We’ve also added a few hotels nearby that offer cruise parking, incase you plan to arrive a day early and need a place to stay.
Official Cape Liberty Cruise Port Parking
Parking at the official port garage is easily the most convenient option. Considering that the cruise port’s terminal is in a remote location that can only be reached by car (no way to walk to or from), many people will park here to avoid any transportation hassles.
The port website states that parking reservations aren’t necessary, and parking is guaranteed. Based on that, you should always be able to find a place to park at the port.
They also offer passengers parking for oversized vehicles (campers, RVs, etc.), but charge double the standard rate for those. If your oversized vehicle is taller than the 7’ 4” height restriction, they do have an open lot adjacent to the garage where you can park.
The price for parking there can get a bit expensive, so if you’re trying to save money on your trip, or you have a tight travel budget, we recommend looking for other options.

Bayonne Cruise Parking
Bayonne Cruise Parking is one of the few companies nearby that specifically offers parking for cruise passengers shipping out from Cape Liberty Cruise Port.
They also offer one of the cheapest prices we’ve seen in the area, including free shuttle service to and from the Bayonne cruise port.
Located just a mile and a half from Cape Liberty, this is a great option if you want cheap parking but still want to be close to the port. The shuttle to the port runs continuously every 15-20, so you don’t need to worry about calling ahead of time for the shuttle.
When you return from your cruise, Zone 10 is the designated pick up for Bayonne Cruise Parking. Once you’ve retrieved your luggage, simply make your way to Zone 10 and wait for the shuttle.
They do recommend that if you have four or more passengers travelling with you, to drop off your luggage and a few of your passengers at the cruise port, then drive over to Bayonne Cruise Parking. Park your car, then just ride the shuttle back to the port where your family will be waiting for you.
They do not offer oversized parking, so if you have an RV or something larger than 20 feet, you will have to look somewhere else.

Park2Go
Park2Go provides parking for both cruise passengers out of Cape Liberty Cruise Port, and for those flying out of Newark Airport. Whatever your parking needs, Park2Go has you covered.
Their rates are cheap when compared to the official seaport parking. They have two separate rates: one for outdoor parking ($15.99 per day) and one for indoor parking ($17.99 per day).
Reservations must be made by calling the number below, or by emailing them at customerservice@park2go.com. They require at least 24 hours’ notice, and payment must be made in advance.
Their prices are based on five passengers per vehicle. Additional passengers will cost $5 each per day.
Park2Go provides 24-hour surveillance, making sure that your car is safe while you are away. They also provide a free shuttle to and from the cruise port. When you are returning from your cruise, you will need to call them for the shuttle to come pick you up.
If for any reason you need to cancel your reservation, there is a $25 cancellation fee, no matter when you cancel. In order to cancel you will need to contact them via email.
Park2Go also offers rewards for those who park there on a regular basis. They can also provide car detailing, car wash, or oil changes at an extra cost, if you are interested.

Parking Near Newark Airport
While there are a few parking lots that cater to cruise passengers, there are also some that cater to those flying from Newark Airport.
Newark Airport parking offer extremely competitive rates, some 50% or more less than parking at the official cruise port.
It could be a bit of a workaround to park at one of these locations for your cruise, but it could also safe you a lot of money. The only downside is they may not offer transportation to the cruise port.
Jiffy Newark
Jiffy offers different rates depending on the type of parking you’ll need. They have daily rates, weekly rates, and even monthly rates. Or just put in your dates and get an instant quote. With the dates we put in, our cheapest option was about $13 per night, before taxes and fees were applied.
According to their website, they only provide shuttle service to the airport, but it can’t hurt to call to see if you can arrange something to the cruise port as well.

Airpark Newark
Airpark Newark is another great parking alternative if you’re looking for something inexpensive. their drive-in rate is $14.50 per day, but if you book online you can lock rates as low as $9 per day (before taxes and fees).
They only provide free shuttle service to and from the airport, so for cruise passengers you will need to find other transportation to the cruise port.

Value Parking
Value Parking offers long-term valet parking for Newark Airport at extremely reasonable prices. The shuttle only goes to and from the airport, but their rates and the other services they offer make up for it.
You can park there for $10.95 per day or join their VP Club and park for $9.95 per day. Also, you’ll get an extra day for free if you join the VP Club.
Other services they offer are: Full Service Wash ($24.95), Gas Fill Up ($10 plus cost of fuel), Full Detail ($159.95), and an Oil Change ($49.95).

This company provides long term parking for the Newark Airport, but you can still park here if you’re headed to the cruise port instead. Like the others that provide parking for flyers, their shuttle only runs to and from the airport, not the cruise port.
Their walk-in rate is $15.50 per day. They say that booking online can get you a cheaper rate, but when we tried, we were still quoted $15.50 per day.

There are very few dedicated parking companies, but there are a few websites and services that can help you find parking anywhere in the area. Let’s look at a few of these.

SpotHero is a company that helps people find parking options all over the United States, not just in New York or New Jersey. When you go to their website, all you need to do is enter in the venue you need to find parking for (in this case, Cape Liberty Cruise Port), your dates, and they will provide you with a list of locations and their prices.

If you’re planning on staying in the area for a day or two before your cruise leaves, you are going to want to find a hotel to stay in. Even better, will be finding a hotel that provides free parking as part of your hotel reservation.

The Ramada Plaza has two packages that provide parking: Park Before You Fly 7, and Park Before You Fly 14. One gives you 7 days of parking, the other gives you 14 days. No shuttle service to the cruise port, though.
